Managing the rotation open thread

NOTE: Scroll down for the latest entries. We've got some great contribution so far, but I know there's more ideas out there.

Many of us at Bullets Forever have complained extensively about Eddie Jordan's strange rotation patterns.  Whether it be playing Donnell Taylor crunch-time minutes over Antonio Daniels, failing to give Andray Blatche consistent time, falling in love with Jarvis Hayes at the power forward spot, playing Antawn Jamison at center, or throwing in guys like Roger Mason at random key points during games, Jordan's roation never fails to confuse.  Often times, I've wondered whether we could come up with a better and real rotation system that is more consistently constant.

Well, now here's our chance.  Instead of spending countless hours wondering how exactly we'd change the roation, I figured this was a great time to throw the question out there.  If Eddie Jordan can't manage the rotation, maybe it's time we stepped in and did it for him.

What do you think the Wizards general rotation should be?  You can either just throw out a rough rotation, or you can break down the depth chart by position, with approximate minutes for each player.  For example, if I were to break down a depth chart of my own, it would include less time for Jamison, more time for Andray Blatche, slightly more time for Brendan Haywood (and slightly less for Thomas) and more time for Stevenson/Daniels, combined with less time for Jarvis Hayes.

Leave your answers in the comments section.  Together, let's teach this guy how to manage a rotation!

Rotation
Whaddup....

Arenas should play until he feels he should come out, simple as that.  Only until he's visably tired would I pull him from the contest.  The same can be said for Caron, as he's been the rock of this team all season.  When these 2 individuals come out, I'd definetly have Blatche and Daniels on the court.  As for Jamison, watch his minutes closely.  As has been apparent with people who played on the Olympic team, they are wearing down.  Jamison also has a history for slow 2nd halves, so i'd be real cautious with his minutes early on.  Blatche and Hayes would eat up most of his minutes.  As for Center, Brenda (i meant that) and Etan should split 50/50, with the hotter hand/better defensive effort getting the majority of burn in the 4th quarter.  Guys like Mason, Booth and Taylor get spot minutes due to foul trouble, but nothing substantial at the moment (although, Mason can replace Hayes at any given moment).  Once Songalia returns, depending on what he brings, this may mean reduced time for Blatche or even Haywood.

Welcome to the site.

It's cool to see that someone's with me on cutting Jamison's minutes.  Early response to the poll on the sidebar seemed to indicate that I was crazy.

When Songaila returns, I hope it means we'll never see Hayes at the 4 ever again.  Hopefully, those remaining minutes will be enough to keep Blatche out there for 10 minutes a game.

Eddie
Kordell's not exactly a looker but Eddie gets bonus points for the Seinfeld, 3-D card effect.  He's viewable from the sides but DO NOT look at him square in the face.  Not good.

Thoughts about tonight's rotations vs. Boston
Putting Roger Mason in today worked out well for the Wiz--he had nice deflections, defensive pressure, shooting, and driving & dishing tonight.  The bench got spot minutes in the second to give our starters some rest, so that was good for us.

Leaving AD in at the end of the game worked well also--he is very good at handling the ball.

I was glad to not see too much small-ball tonight.  I think there was a brief stint of it in the second half, but for the most part I remember Brendan or Etan manning the C for us.

Eddie Jordan coaching the All Stars?
Imagine that rotation...

I can see it now
Paul Pierce at power forward against a West lineup featuring KG, Duncan, and Yao.  Watch it happen.

rotation
Rotate Jarvis off of the team.

Starting 5: As Is.

I agree w. a lot that Spit had to say.  Although Etan doesn't seem to have that same fire he had pre-injury.  Maybe Songalia, depending on performance, cuts into his minutes, rather than Brenda's.
