This is the end
2-3 months. Torn left meniscus. Won't be back until next season.
So much for this season.

Jackpitt mentioned in the comments that he hopes injuries won't be used as an excuse for not making changes. Well, let's start thinking of some. Remember the salary cap, follow the primer, and let's think of some interesting ideas. Personally, I just think there needs to be a coaching change and some minor tinkering, but that's just me.
The season's now basically over, so let's start looking forward to next year here.

I'll be posting my thoughts about what the Bullets should and should not do during the offseason. I look forward to reading your thoughts, Pradamaster, and the thoughts of your membership.

WTF????
The changes that need to be made need to invlolve someone stepping up to this team and saying they need to play defense. They have talked this game the last two years but never has it come true.. They can outscore teams in the NBA November - Jan...but when it matters Defense wins games. Whether this is Eddie Jordan who has to step up to these guys and say it i dont know.

It was an emotional reaction
First off, if you have a problem with me, talk to me. I have a big problem with you lumping every member of this blog (including yourself, by the way) together. This site embraces differences of opinion, and it strives to unite all Wizards fans together into one community. When you lump together everyone else on this site, you're threatening to undermine everything we've worked to create.
Secondly, there's a reason I threw this thread up. It was for everyone to get all their frustrations and problems out into the open before we sit back and think about the rest of the year. Maybe the language was a little melodramatic, but the point is that losing Arenas, only four days after losing Butler, is likely going to be a season-killer. It's one thing to play without one of your best players (like Phoenix did with Amare last year), but it's another to do so without your two best. I think we can all agree that the rest of the team hasn't really shown much when Arenas or Butler aren't in the game, so while there's certainly a possibility they'll turn it around, we haven't really seen any indications.
I invite you to go take a look at the first post I ever made here. I want you to take a look at the fifth paragraph, where I believe I said that this blog is not going to be a running diary of Arenas. Then, I want you to take a look into the archives, and find the posts that are only about Arenas. Chances are, there aren't going to be all that many.
Again, the melodrama of this post is not indicative of this site, so I can understand where you got the wrong idea. But it's hard to spin this in a remotely positive way, even if we are Wizard fans.
As for you lumping everyone together, I am 100 percent serious when I say that the next post you make of that kind is going to be your last on this site. We are all sorts of different Wizards fans, and this type of hostile behavior is exactly the type this site, and this network, strives to eliminate.
I hope you heed that warning, because I really don't ever want to ban someone from this site.

Are you kidding me Pradamaster??
I'm sorry he got injured, but when you title the post "This is the End" I think there are some serious problems all Wizards fan need to address, but the fact of the matter is that Arenas let his team down by getting a season ending injury.

A picture is worth a thousand words...

And with that, this is demoted to the second most painful moment in Verizon Center history.

I don't get it
We are talking about professional team sports. If the season ends when 2 players go down then the sport is not a TEAM game. If you guys give up hope you are GILBERT ARENAS fans, not wizards fans.
The cowboys thought their season was over last year when they benched Drew Bledsoe, but then Tony Romo stepped up. Thats right, we can do it, don't give up hope. We lost 1 professional player and have a roster full of others. This is a team sport.

Thanks
Thanks for the comment. I'm still not convinced, but we'll see.
Again, as an explanation, the point of this post was to get frustrations out before we moved forward.

Sick of Sick of Arenas
How are diehard fans supposed to act when their All Star starter is out for the season? If Chris Bosh went down, how would Raptor Fans feel? Kobe? Nash? Dirk? Kidd?
Whether or not you like his game, there is little debate that Arenas is one of the top players in the league. His role on this team is to score points, draw fouls, and create off the dribble to make plays.
Put his injury on top of Butler's and the Wizards have to replace 50 points a game, sounds pretty despair to me? Plus, the bench has shown little all season to prove that they are able to successfully step up.
Does Arenas' game have flaws? Yes. Are there people who have started to like the Wizards just because of Gilbert? Probably. Is that a bad thing? I do not think so. Are these new fans going to stop following cause he is out for 2-3 months? I hope not.
Are the Wizards better without him? Do I even have to hypothetically answer that? He is already one of the best players this franchise has seen in the last 20 years. When was the last time the NBA cared or paid attention to the Wizards? Not counting the MJ playing days, it has been a LOOOONG time. If someone can not see Gilbert as a main reason for this, then I just give up.
Prada, I have no problem with this post because it illustrated exactly how I and most Wizards fans felt today when hearing the news.
With that being said, the games move on, and it is time to see EJ's REAL princeton offense coaching genius. I have my doubts but I hope to salvage something positive in the next month.
I approve your authority to ban people. Different opinions and arguments are fine. I encourage them and provides fresh banter. Going on a team's blog after their star player has a season ending injury, with a mischievous log in name and bashing them for being emotional is just cruel and cheap antagonistic behavior.
I am not a fan of the Heat and thought the Refs gave them the title over the Mavs in at least 2 games but did I go on their blog and start talking smak about Dwayne Wade getting hurt? No, I did not care enough nor do I want that bad karma.
Hey Sick of You, Go Log on to your MySpace page, add that new friend request from Monica, and go have fun "watching" her new web cam. Sounds like you could use some entertainment.
